Flora is a bold yet playful shawl, inspired by the great Frida Kahlo’s wardrobe (and named after a dear friend’s baby girl).
The large garter stitch stripes in bold contrasting colors are broken up by delicate lace sections. A contrasting border with a knotted fringe pays homage to Frida’s fringed shawls and adds a touch of whimsy.
The shawl is knit top-down in garter stitch and a stockinette lace motive with an i-cord selvedge. The knotted fringe can be substituted with a clean and minimalist i-cord edge.
The design comes to life thanks to “On Stage – Long Métrage“ by Nature’s Luxury, a luxuriously soft blend of Merino, Silk and Baby Camel with a soft sheen, in three saturated semi-solids and a matching speckled colorway.
This single-ply yarn will stand the test of time thanks to the relatively high twist, and you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite new shawl for years to come!
