This rainbow scarf is dedicated to queerMaschen – http://queermaschen.net/ – an LGBTIQ+ knitting and crochet group from Vienna – and queer knitters everywhere. With the proceeds from this knitting pattern the queerMaschen support the QueerBase.

While the shawl pictured is knit in a variation of the tradtional 6 pride flag colors, the 12 contrast sections leave you plenty of room for customization: add more colors to your rainbow to create a Progress Pride shawl, or use the colors of the transgender, lesbian … pride flags.
Are you not feeling very colorful? You can use anywhere between 1 and 12 contrasting colors, or go for a one-color version alltogether. Make it your own!
(This pattern is the remastered version of the New Beginnings shawl, which has been re-released in an extended rainbow version in support of the YarnPride fundraiser.)
