A shawl to knit while dreaming of exploring the world, of traveling and meeting faraway friends. Use three treasured speckled or semisolid skeins of hand-dyed yarn – a lighter one in the foreground, a darker one in the background, and a color pop – to tide you over the longing of Fernweh.
The Fernweh shawl is knit top-down in two-color brioche and one-color pearl brioche, with a garter stripe border and i-cord edges. The textural pearl brioche intersects the vertical two-color brioche lines, broken at the border by horizontal garter stripes.
