I’m away in an epic birthday trip this week, exploring Iceland. What an incredible treat! I’m also stress testing a new Brioche hood/cowl design that should be out soon.
Unfortunate I don’t have lots of time in-between excursions to sit and knit, or even to visit all the yarn stores, but I managed two visits to the Hand Knitting Association where I not only found lovely unspun Icelandic wool and Lopi, I also found a Lopapeysa to come home with me. 😊🧶🩷

This was 2025.
Lots of ups and plenty of downs, and I finally achieved some work-life balance.
I traveled to and taught knitting classes in New York, Madrid, Brno, and Berlin this year, and met the most amazing knitters and yarn lovers everywhere!
After finishing my studio renovation in spring and juggling all the knitting and design work, I took up running and hiking, baked sourdough bread, expanded my vegetable garden, and started walking shelter dogs.
The last year of my 30s has been a year of change, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I can’t wait to begin my next decade soon!
Thank you all for being part of my knitting journey this year. I hope you have a wonderful 2026!

A modular rectangular shawl, knit seamlessly in one piece in (mostly) Garter stitch.
The original version (swipe to the second picture) was designed for the 2021 @frida_fuchs_yarns Advent Calendar. It’s knit with 1 full skein of fluffy Lace-weight yarn and 2 mini skeins each of 9 contrasting colors, with each section using no more than one mini skein. It also features an eyelet design and the pattern offers two possibilities to create a color gradient design.
Travel Mode 2.0 is written for 5 full skeins of Fingering weight yarn, and is knit entirely in Garter stitch with textural Stockinette stitch contrast details (rather than eyelets) and a (seemingly) random color placement.
Both designs are great for mini skeins or leftovers as well!

This large rectangular shawl is made up of three sections, each knit in a different sequence of colorful textured chevron stripes. The sections are seamlessly connected with an i-cord, which also borders the entire shawl.
Earth, Wind & Fire can be knit with Fingering weight yarn or a mix of Fingering and fluffy Lace weight yarn (as shown), for an extra cozy texture. It’s a great project for mini skeins or for using up leftovers and scraps.
For my first-ever Advent Mystery shawl with @frida_fuchs_yarns, long ago, we created the elemental color story, and I had the pleasure to select my favorites from each for my “unicorn” version. We enjoyed collaborating so much, we keep doing it again and again...

J`ai mis longtemps à le montrer ici mais je l`ai vite adopté dans ma garde robe quotidienne. Il s`agit du #briochetilesshawl de sosuknits tricoté en laines palaluna sont j`adore les couleurs. J`ai choisi ce modèle pour la 2ème partie de brioche bicolore. Elle demandait de l`attention et présentait quelques nouveautés (pour moi) dans la technique de la brioche. Mais finalement je me demande si ma partie préférée du châle n`est pas la partie unie entourée par l`i-cord !

Presenting my Ginny Cardigan, designed by sosuknits. This was an incredibly interesting knit, which involved some techniques I hadn’t done in a while. Always something unique when you knit her patterns. I have such special memories of buying this yarn in Edinburgh at Ginger Twist Studio, sitting on the floor with a pile of yarn trying to decide on colors (thank you, lrbh, for your help!). The yarn is a wonderful DK BFL and Masham blend.
