Summer Sorbet

This shawl-turned-poncho is a stylish alternative to your traditional triangular shawl. Knit in fingering weight yarn, this asymmetrical poncho is a lighter and more playful version of my pattern Wrapped Up and uses the same construction: You start by knitting a top-down shawl, then close to knit in the round and continue knitting on the bias.

The poncho is knit top-down in five colors and features textures (seed-, garter- and stockinette stitch), stripes, short-row sections, eyelets, and slip-stitch colorwork. An i-cord surrounds both edges for a neat finish.

Feel free to follow the color sequence of the pattern – or not. Playing with colors is a lot of fun, and you can use as many or as little as you like.
