Summer Walk

Brioche & Short Rows are a great match, especially when combined with the luscious Delicate Merino yarn from Walk Collection. This light fingering weight base turns this super-sized shawl into a light and airy accessory.

The first four short-row wedges are worked in one-color brioche and only the last wedge in two-color brioche.

I used Greyhound (gray) and Bel Air (mint and gray) for the short-row sections and Salmon for the contrast stripes in garter stitch.
The shawl’s edges get full i-cord treatment: With i-cord selvedges and an i-cord bind-off all edges look clean and finished.

If you’re planning on substituting yarn with a smaller yardage (like fingering weight), you should make sure that you have enough on hand. Alternatively, you can use different colors for each wedge or just two different colors for the final two-color brioche wedge.
