Treelight

This is the official festival shawl for Jyväskylä Summer Knit Fest 2019, designed in collaboration with Uschitita, and can be found in the festival magazine (in English).

The sun is peeking through the tree canopy by an azure blue lake, the water is mirroring speckles of clouds on this tranquil day. The Treelight Shawl evokes this serene summer scene in my mind and makes me want to go out and search for this place, bundled in a hand-knit shawl.

The shawl is knit sideways in sections of one-color brioche in two alternating colors, specially created by Uschitita for Jyväskylä Summer Knit Festival 2019.

„Jyväskylä“ is the speckled blue colorway and „Tiina“ (named after the lovely owner of the beautiful LYS Titityy and organizer of the festival) the speckled green colorway. Small stripes of two-color brioche introduce the contrasting sections of honeycomb brioche in the colorway „Vivid“ and give the illusion of the sun peeking through the tree canopy, of treelight. The shawl is surrounded by a garter stitch border and i-cord edges for a neat finish.
